An 1880 Farmhouse Transformation
Shaker Heights, Ohio
Originally built in 1880 and located on Harvard Blvd., the home was moved to its current location in 1916 by the first Service Director of Shaker Heights, Rudy Riffe. This house had been neglected for years, every inch of this house needed to be remodeled.
Now this two story historical home in Shaker Heights is modernized, fully furnished and decorated.

The Kitchen
The brightly lit kitchen has new stainless steel appliances (gas stove/cooktop, dishwasher, microwave/vent, refrigerator), ceramic tile floors, cabinets with decorative knobs, granite countertops, recessed lighting and large under-mount sink. We added crown moulding, tall baseboards, new window hardware and shoe moulding. The walls and ceiling were textured, primed and painted. The French décor of the kitchen is carried through into the adjoining breakfast nook where you can enjoy your morning coffee.

The Living Room
The old, outdated, shelving was replaced. This room now has a heat throwing fireplace, new flooring, crown moulding, tall baseboards, window hardware and shoe moulding. The walls and ceiling were textured, primed and painted. We also restored the vintage light fixture.
The living room has been decorated with a sofa, an accent chair, side tables, smart TV, built-in bookshelf, local Cleveland artwork, a unique coffee table/chest combo with lots of storage inside for blankets and pillows.

The Dining Room
The outdated, corner cabinets were removed This room now has new flooring, wainscoting, crown moulding, tall baseboards, window hardware, antique reclaimed crystal chandelier and shoe moulding. The ceiling and walls were primed and painted.
The formal dining room has been decorated with a large dining room set, antique buffet, side table and artwork by a local Cleveland artist.

The Den/Office & Powder Room
A bonus room off of the living room can double as a home office and the powder room has been updated with wainscoting, traditional black and white ceramic tile flooring, reclaimed medicine cabinet and pedestal sink.
This rom now has a ceiling fan, new flooring, crown moulding, tall baseboards, new window hardware, and shoe moulding. We textured, primed and painted the ceilings and walls.

Master & Guest Bedrooms
All of the bedrooms now have new ceiling fans with remotes, crown moulding, tall baseboards, new window hardware, and shoe moulding. We textured, primed and painted the ceilings and walls. The carpet was removed. The old Poplar plank flooring has been sanded and painted.
The two larger bedrooms are furnished with beautiful window treatments, super comfortable double beds, dressers and end tables. The smaller bedroom is furnished with a twin bed and small desk.
The Sleeping Porch
This gorgeous sleeping porch has lots of windows and comes fully furnished. We raised the ceiling, added new recessed lighting, a wall mounted heater and new window hardware. The old carpet was removed, the flooring underneath was primed and painted. The walls and trim were repaired, primed and painted.

The Master Bath & Hallway
The Master Bath
The shower was gutted and tiled. The linoleum floor was removed and replaced with gorgeous ceramic tile. This bathroom now has wainscoting, new light fixtures, exhaust fan, new towel bars and a toilet paper holder. The walls and ceiling were repaired, primed and painted.
The Hallway and Staircase - The second floor has a unique Hollywood themed staircase. The hallway features photos of local Shaker Heights locations. The walls and and ceiling were repaired, primed and painted. We added a vintage decorative light fixture. The old carpet was removed. The floor and steps have been sanded, primed and painted.

The Basement
The basement is now semi-finished. This basement now has mold resistant drywall, a full size washer, dryer, a new furnace, utility sink and UV Air treatment system. The walls and floor were painted. The steps have been carpeted.
